On Apr. 29, 2019, Li Haisheng, president of CRAES, received a delegation led by Chang Yoon Seok, president of the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) of the Republic of Korea. They had in-depth communication and exchange on the current status, experience learned, and the future cooperation suggestions of the cooperation in air pollution prevention and control in the two countries.
President Li Haisheng introduced the achievements of China’s Blue Sky Protection Campaign and the prospect of China-Korea cooperation on tackling air pollution. He suggested that Korea, together with China, focusing on actively carrying out high-efficient cooperation on ecological and environmental protection, jointly promoting the action on air pollution prevention and control, and conducting in-depth communication, so as to build a community of clean air, through which the people of two countries could enjoy more blues sky happiness. President Chang Yoon Seok highly praised China’s work on air pollution prevention and control and its effectiveness, as well as China’s ecological and environmental protection supervision and inspection. He expressed his willingness to enhance expert exchanges and technological cooperation between the two sides, and hoped that the cooperation and communication in air pollution prevention and control can be developed into a world-class example, through which the experience could be promoted globally.
